Midea Building Technologies Applied Product Company displayed its line-up of chiller products, all of which received awards at the exhibition - including the Gold Medal-winning Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller (Dual Mode) and Aqua thermal Super Series R32 High Temp Heat Pump, and the Bronze Medalist, AirBoost Air Cooled Screw Chiller.
The 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, hosted by the Swiss Federal Government, the State, the City of Geneva, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), was held on the west shores of Lake Geneva in Palexpo from April 26 to 30, 2023. This was the first offline edition since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 and has attracted over 1000 inventions from more than 40 countries and regions. Joining hands with its overseas marketing division, Midea Building Technologies Applied Product Company displayed its line-up of chiller products, all of which received awards at the exhibition - including the Gold Medal-winning Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller (Dual Mode) and Aqua thermal Super Series R32 High Temp Heat Pump, and the Bronze Medalist, AirBoost Air Cooled Screw Chiller.
The Midea Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller (Dual Mode - Cooling Mode & Ice Thermal Storage Mode) is a first in the industry, with core highlights including surge point virtual sensing technology, multi-scenario pneumatic design optimization, high-reliability magnetic levitation compressor drive and control technology, and more. With internationally leading standards, the product achieves high-efficiency cooling and ice storage, with significant improvements in energy-saving and peak shavings. The chiller can be widely used in various cooling areas such as energy systems, commercial buildings, food processing, industrial refrigeration, marine fisheries, data centers, and more. It is of great significance to implementing strategies for the “carbon peak and neutrality” goals and to developing ice storage technologies.
Aqua thermal Super Series R32 High Temp Heat Pump is a highly efficient heat pump that adopts the R32 refrigerant. Equipped with the inverter compressor, fan, and water pump system, the product’s innovative development of a gas-liquid mix enhanced vapor injection technology has significantly improved its energy saving, with seasonal efficiency at A+++, the highest level of the European standard. Breakthrough research in fuzzy control self-learning defrosting technology and one-piece module high-efficiency heat exchange technology has enabled the product to operate in wider ranges, with a water output up to 65℃ in ambient temperatures between -25~48℃.
Chinese Ambassador of Switzerland Mr. Wang Shiting attended the exhibition to support the Chinese delegation. Ambassador Wang said that the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is not only an excellent platform to showcase China’s innovation achievements, but also an opportunity to strengthen the relation between China and the world in the field of innovation and invention. He gave high praises to the three products displayed by Midea for their outstanding quantity and quality, which reflected the emphasis placed on innovation by Chinese brands and will help accelerate self-sufficiency in high-level technology and implement innovation-driven development strategies.
All three Midea products simultaneously winning awards at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva demonstrates that the technologies behind Midea’s magnetic bearing products and commercial heat pumps have been acknowledged by the professional judges of Europe. The awards also proves the position of Midea’s products in the global chiller industry and establishes a solid foundation for Midea’s continued expansion into European and global markets.
About the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva
Founded in 1973, the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is an annual event that has been successfully held for 49 editions as of 2022. The international invention exhibition, one of the world’s longest-running and largest, is jointly organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the State, the City of Geneva, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Every year, in April, inventors from around the world gather on the shores of Lake Geneva, bringing their new inventions, technologies, and ideas to compete in the same venue. Industry professionals, IP experts, financiers, leading publications, and thousands of enthusiasts are also participants in the activities. A jury appointed by the exhibition committee, comprised of specialists from Europe, judges inventions in-person and bestows successful inventors with Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, as well as award certifications.
